I used to be really good at updating my blog with pictures and just telling my life story.... lately, I suck. I don't know why. I still love to write and I still really want to share my stories and experiences with all you but it's been hard finding the time and energy for a decent post.

Sorry! ;)

But, here I am. It's Monday evening and I'm seriously enjoying a quiet evening after a somewhat long day. I'm officially on vacation! Yups - I am off work for the entire month of July! Ok, not 100%, since I'm still working at the garage but still, I have vacation! YAY!! Can I hear a woot woot?!

Not because I've done much so far. Hung out with my friends, made some new friends, spent time alone here at home, slept, listened to music, drank coffee and all that wonderful good stuff one can do while on vacation. Last Friday, I went to Juelsminde Havnefest with some friends and had a blast. Juelsminde is a little town about 30km from Vejle and they had a little festival/fair thing going. It's pretty much a bunch of hicks and a bunch of "city people" from Vejle that hang out and drink beer. Yeah, Danes like their beer. I behaved myself since I was working the day after but it still turned into a super fun (and very late) night. But I was awake and ready for work the next day. I can be a good girl! ;)

I am meeting up with Arma on Thursday in Kolding and going to Århus with Heidi on Friday. Working Saturday and basically just doing my own thing. I really really really want to go to Ikea soon and do a little mini shopping spree. I have to pick up some things for my wonderful little home - maybe I should add some pictures of my place soon, eh?

Speaking of pictures, I have a few to share. A little mixed - some are new and some are old. Most of them, if not all, have been posted on facebook but since not everyone has a facebook profile, I will also post them here.

Per, Rie and Betina - Per's wife. I work with Per at Jættebo and one evening, he invited me out with him and some.... motorbikes! YAY! I love motorbikes and I totally want one! Next year!

"Hamster" is an old member of Jættebo - before I started working there. I ended up being his passenger for our little "trip" and I don't think I was all that irritating. Or so he says... maybe he's just being nice.

On our way. We ended up being 5 bikes driving together.

We stopped off at Jonna and Brian's place on our way to Juelsminde for a smoke break.

Shit picture of me but a good one of "Hamster". Here we are in Juelsminde drinking coffee and hanging out. Lots of "biker dudes" come out here - guess it's a good place to park and show off their bikes.

Per and me. We had fun and I hope we can do it again soon!

Before Lena took off for her summer vacation - USA with her husband - she came over for coffee. We just hung out and talked all evening. She helped me hang up my lights in my hallway and kitchen so thank you Lena - and Stan.... that's my toolbox ;)

Last week, Jonna (and her little girl) and I met up for a day of shopping and lunch at the park. I ALWAYS have a great time with her and her daughter is a cutie. I think Mathilde is going to be really cool when she gets older - she's already got a fantastic personality!

A fantastic personality and a good appetite!

I am now relaxed and finished up everything here at home so I can update my blog - with pictures!! I got home last night from a camping trip to Sweden with work. 21 kids for 5 days can sure wipe one out! But it was a really good trip and I think I can safely say that everyone had a good time. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and the campsite was perfect for our needs. The only 2 things that kinda sucked were all the bugs that came out at night and the fact that I didn't get to see much of Sweden. So I'll probably take another trip to Sweden sometime in the future, without kids and see more of the nature and whatever else Sweden has to offer.

On to the pictures!

Here we are in Grenå Harbour, waiting for the ferry. It took 5 hours to sail to Varberg in Sweden but for many of the kids, it was their first time on a ferry. I felt like an old pro!

Yeah, ok.... so I'm not normal. Had to entertain myself (and 21 kids) while we were waiting to board the ferry!

Dorte, one of my co-workers at Jættebo. She's amazing and I'm so glad she came with us to Sweden. She has crazy crazy crazy curly hair and the fresh breeze on the top deck of the ferry didn't help her keep control of her curls!

I knew the trip to Sweden was going to be long and hot so I just put on a headband and my funky glasses. Enjoying the fresh air on the ferry and goofing around with Dorte.

Varberg Harbour, Sweden. We had to wait for the bus to deboard and pick us up.

Jesper, one of our BBQ masters and one of my co-workers at Jættebo. When 21 kids are hungry, they get evil! Just kidding!

Our campsite. We had 10 tents with us for 25 people. The pool is just to the left.

Dinner time. Poul is our boss and knew what he was doing since him and Jesper have been on trips with kids lots of times.

Dorte is just so cool!

To celebrate Canada Day, my co-workers thought we should have a "Canada Day Cake eating" contest where everytime me or the 3 kids involved could answer a question about Canada, we could eat some of our cake. Needless to say, I KICKED ASS!

We took our 8 mountainbikes with us and they were well used during the trip. That's the bus that got us to Sweden. No air-conditioning and only 2 windows that could open. Try a trip in a heatwave - it wasn't all that much fun!

Group shot on the morning we left. Tired but happy kids.

It was super crazy with all the baggage! And that's only half of it!

I was bored on our trip back to Denmark.

The view from the ferry leaving Göteborg.

Goodbye Sweden!

It's Monday.... another work week ahead. Not a bad thing but right now, I just can't seem to find my energy for a long day.

My weekend was good. Friday was another danish holiday so no official work. But I helped out my co-worker host a bday party for her son.... so 25 kids had to be fed and entertained. Dorte and I are used to kids so it wasn't a huge deal at all. They had fun, we survived and the bday boy had a good day.

Afterwards, I went over to Karin and Ernst's place - invited myself over for dinner and a sleepover. We had to go to a meeting early Saturday morning so to make things easier for me, I crashed at their place. Good dinner - can't remember the last time I ate potatoes and gravy! My cousin Jesper was there as well, with his two twins - Line and Tobias. Cute kids but holy shit, definitely a handful! I was exhausted after a few hours so I can't imagine what it's like having them fulltime. Parents - you have my respect!

Meeting on Saturday went well but I was exhausted when I got home. Karin and I ended up talking way past midnight Friday night and then getting up at 7am.... I don't do mornings that well. I was tired.

Saturday evening and Sunday was quiet. Talked to the parental units Sunday, went for a bike ride with Lise, voted, studied... kinda boring to write about. Nothing all that interesting. But that's ok, right? I needed a somewhat quiet weekend.

Now it's Monday... I already said that, eh? But yeah, it's still Monday and I still have to work today. Long day.... won't be off until 1030 pm tonight. So I better get some stuff done now while I have the time. Make some coffee, turn up the music and find my energy.

Have a great week!

Wow, what a weekend! JELLING FESTIVAL 2009!

Yes, I'm still alive. Barely. But it was totally worth it! For the first time, I went to the music festival in Jelling for three days, as a guest. NO WORK! And it rocked! 26,000 people came! The weather was gorgeous - at least 25 degrees and the sun was shining for three days straight. It got slightly chilly in the evenings but it was enough to just have a jacket on. Perfect weather.

We partied Friday (after work), Saturday and Sunday... although Sunday was a little quiet in the evening because we were all so tired. During the days, we vegged on our blankets, taking naps, taking to people, drinking and eating (NO MORE junk food for the next long while - my tummy can't handle it!) and then when it got a little cooler, we got some energy and danced, drank and just had a blast until we took the bus back to Vejle at 2am-ish. Then we woke up in the morning, showered, ate and went back to Jelling. FUN FUN FUN! But I'm glad it only happens once a year, because I'm beat. My body hurts - aches and pains in my muscles. Sunburnt face and shoulders. Tired but happy.

Rie and Lise Saturday night - Finding our energy for the Nephew concert!

Rie, relaxing in the sun Saturday afternoon.

This isn't my picture, I found it on the Internet at www.vejleamtsfolkeblad.dk. But it's a great picture that shows the energy at the festival.

My brain is mushy right now. It's again a gorgeous day and I'm doing my own thing here at home. Music and laundry. Cleaning up and just plain relaxing so I'm ready for work tomorrow. Ate some real food - yummy. Maybe I should start a detox diet for the next couple of days to get all that crap from the festival out of my system. A short week this week. We're off today and also off on Friday - gotta love spring/summer danish holidays!

I'm gone again. I want to get more done here at home before I crash on my couch tonight.

Hey everyone! Hope you are all having a good weekend and that the sun in shining wherever you are in the world. Ok, the sun isn't shining here but that's because it is 11pm. But the sun did shine today!

It's been a good weekend so far here in Vejle. I had the day off Thursday (some danish holiday) and we were closed Friday too so I almost had a long weekend. I had to work Friday evening at a youth party and that turned out to be slightly rough. Nothing dramatic or major, just busy. Lots of kids - over 400 - came to party. But it was a good night. Then it was at the garage today and that also went well.

I haven't really done much today other than work and do "boring" stuff here at home. Laundry, read a couple of chapters in my book, cleaned up a bit, took a nap, made some dinner, listened to music and drink coffee. A very good Saturday evening! I also plan on just relaxing here at home tomorrow but if it's good weather, then maybe I'll take a ride out of town on my bike. Enjoy the sunshine, my ipod and freedom. I think next week will be kind of a killer week so I better enjoy the peace while I can. Eye doctor apps, work, extra meetings, driving lessons, Greg and Jelling festival...

Yups - JELLING FESTIVAL! Do you guys remember how I used to work there? Last year, I was grumpy and decided to boycott the festival and just stayed home. BUT... this year will be very different. I wasn't planning on going but then a very very very cheap ticket pretty much fell into my hands and I couldn't say no. So, I will be going to Jelling - as a guest! NO WORK! I've been to the music festival many times but never not having to work so this will be a new experience. It's not a bad bandlist this year - many Danish bands that are pretty cool and then ZZ Top will be closing the festival Sunday night. I'm not planning on camping out there, will probably be taking the bus back and forth but since Jelling isn't all that far away from Vejle, it can be done and sleeping in my own bed and having access to a shower will make it all worth it.

YAY to Jelling Music Festival!

Ending my babble now. Have a great weekend!

Saturday morning - and I don't have to work today! Oh. My. God. What am I to do with my day off?

It's been a slightly crazy week with work so I am going to seriously enjoy a full weekend without any kids or teenagers. I can clean. Paint. Read. Dance (loud music!). Write. Visit friends. Drink coffee. Go for a bike ride. Pay my bills (already did that). Sleep. Sew. Laundry.

See.... the possibilities are endless.

Yes, I'm babbling. I already had too much coffee and I'm ready to seriously start a hopefully good weekend. Next week shouldn't be too bad - no extra meetings and we have the day off on Friday. (A danish holiday or something....).

Life is good here. I finally have my shit in order and can sit back and enjoy life. Smile to the world. The whole moving process knocked me down for a while but now I'm back in business. I'm ready for the next complications and disorder, whatever and whenever that might be.

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!!

It's been way too long since I last posted... But I'm here now and this time, I plan to post pictures too! Most of the pictures have been uploaded on facebook so these are mainly for those of you who don't have facebook. Gotta love facebook!

I have been busy, but not too overly stressed out. My days just seem to fly by and I'm seriously enjoying life. Ok, I've had some days at work where I'm ready to tear my hair out afterwards but I guess that's all part of the "real life". I still love my jobs. We had a market/circus theme week a while ago and my part of it was letting the kids throw "flødeboller" at me. It got sticky and very messy. The kids loved it - I wasn't too thrilled afterwards but it was worth it. But next time, it'll be someone else's turn in the box!

They all lined up and threw marshmellow-ish stuff at me. Even my co-workers took advantage of it and had a go. It got messy. And we were all on a sugar high afterwards!

I had several hours left of my shift afterwards and wasn't able to wash my hair. Yuck!
The youth club in Nørup is closed now. A bitter-sweet feeling. I love working there - I love it when the kids seem happy to see us and all the fun (and not-so-fun situations) stuff that goes on. But then again, it's nice having my Wednesday evenings free for other stuff. I see the kids from Nørup every once in a while at the local youth parties so I try to keep in contact. And facebook definitely helps too.
But I'm still working at the garage every Saturday and now that the weather has gotten way better, we have more and more kids coming by. Lots of fun. Especially now that I'm actually getting to know them.

Now that the sun is shining and it's warmer, we tend to move the scooters outside and work on them in the fresh air. I still know NOTHING about scooters but I'm having fun "learning" while hanging out with these kids. They love telling me all sorts of stuff and I still understand nothing about motors and stuff. Luckily, we talk about a million other things besides scooters.
Lise came out and visited me last Saturday at work. Gorgeous weather! And I got my first sunburn of the year - probably won't be my last one....
Other than work, I've been either hanging out here at home, doing artsy/creative stuff, reading and just relaxing. Or I'm spending time with my friends where we either just hang out, make dinner together, watch movies and have a couple of drinks every now and then. Greg, my Canadian buddy stayed at my place a few days before heading off to travel Europe. He'll be coming back for a few days again at the end of May and then he's going back home to get on with the real life of work and responsibilities.

Greg and me at a party at Rasmus' place a little while ago. He's definitely brought back a lot of Canadian memories and it was nice having someone here that understands my stupid canadian jokes and all the good stuff from back home.
I don't get to hang out with my friends as much as I wish I could. Due to my wacky work hours (mainly afternoons and evenings), I rarely see them during the week. So we try to get together on the weekends and catch up. Not always drinking and wild parties but always lots of fun!

Rasmus, Lise and I had a seriously fun night a few weeks ago. Just us three and I laughed so hard that my stomach muscles were hurting the next day. We took so many pictures but this one is definitely my fave. Kinda hard taking the picture and being in it at the same time but it worked out.

Last weekend was just gorgeous. Sunshine, good friends and BBQ food. Christa and Lise picked me up at work and after we did some grocery shopping, we came back to my place (and Christa's - she's my neighbour) and had a BBQ in the courtyard. Good food, good wine and good company. When the sun went down and it got chilly, we went up to my place and had a serious girl's night. Talking, laughing and even a few tears. The only bummer was that I had been in the sun a little too much during the day and was feeling the pain later on in the evening.

Great picture of Christa but a horrible picture of me. I was tired and sunburnt. Luckily, they love me even when I look like shit.
There is so much more to tell but I think I'll end it here and leave the rest for next time. I have to get ready for work now... and drink more coffee. Mmmm, coffee.....

I'm cold, hungry and alone.... sounds a lot more pathetic than it really is!

I'm at work (the garage) and since we have no heat here, I'm freezing. Seriously. I have long underwear on underneath jeans, two pairs of socks, a long-sleeved shirt, a t-shirt, a thick sweater, my jacket, a hat and gloves on and I'm still cold. And I can't type on my puter with gloves...

But it's all good!

No kids are here right now so I'm taking advantage of the quiet to update my blog. Soon I will eat lunch. It's all about work this weekend because after my shift at the garage, I will be heading out to Jelling to the youth party - that's the one where a lot of the kids are completely shitfaced and there is usually lots to do.

But.... I love my jobs. So it's all good.

I've been sick earlier this week with a nasty cold but I'm pretty much back in business again. Still snotty and still sporting a yucky cough but I'll survive. I usually do.

I have some new paintings that need to be hung up at home plus some old ones that have been touched up. I should seriously take some pictures soon of my home. Do you remember my old apartment when I lived alone? Just picture that - they're exactly the same.

And I love my home. It's my home. A little messy and still need to get some things done like curtains, lights and buy a vacumn cleaner but that'll come.

My babbling is coming to an end. My fingers are too frozen to type so the gloves are coming back on. Have a great weekend!

Loud music and coffee - that's what my "mornings" are like. I rarely watch tv but ALWAYS have music playing. Sometimes loud and sometimes not so loud. Today, it's loud. I'm in that kind of mood.

I only have two more shifts up at JB and then I have a long weekend followed by vacation. YAY ME! It's not going to be 100% vacation because I still have to work at the club in Nørup next Wednesday, a course Thursday evening and then of course the garage on Saturday but I'm off during the days. My plans consist of visiting friends who live outside of Vejle and homey stuff like painting, cleaning, reorganizing, laundry blah blah blah.

I survived a killer weekend but I can definitely feel that I'm no longer a teenager. But I'll admit, I had a freaking blast! I'm going out again Saturday after work with some friends so we'll see how that turns out. I think I go out a lot during the weekends because I rarely see anyone other than kids and co-workers during the weekdays and it's just great seeing my friends when we can make it happen.

Ok, now I'm just babbling - coffee babble. I'm going to log off now and find some socks. I hate having to match up my socks after laundry but that means that when I need to find socks, I have issues. It's time for me to get ready for work - two more evening shifts and then I'm on vacation!

when I have powertools!?

Ok, some people might find that sentence slightly perverted but it wasn't meant in a dirty way. I just finished hanging up some shelves in my living room - ALL BY MYSELF! They are slightly crooked and we'll see what happens when I actually put stuff on them but that's not the point. The point is - I DID IT MYSELF! See, I don't need a man to help me out. Actually, the plan was that a friend was going to come over and help me out one day but we made those plans several weeks ago and so far, nothing. So, I got impatient, borrowed a kickass mother of a drill from work and made several holes in my wall.

HA!

Yes, I'm all excited about stupid shelves. Trust me, my life does have more important things to be excited over but I'm proud of myself and so there!

Life is good. I did a no-drinking/party weekend and instead pulled a 14 hour long work day on Saturday. I can handle partying for hours on end, dancing and goofing around but 14 hours of kids exhausted me. I crashed when I got home and slept in Sunday. Like a rock. Good thing I did that because I went to a Superbowl gathering Sunday evening and that turned into a late night. Lots of fun though and totally worth being beaten up on Monday.

Back to work today and it was a good day. Probably helped that it was also my short day and I get to spend my evening at home. Hanging up shelves and just doing my own thing here. Have I mentioned lately that I LOVE my apartment? I love it more every day. And I get excited when I get to cross something off my long list of things to do and things to buy. I bought shower curtains and a matt yesterday and yes, that made me happy.... in no such twisted way at all.

Weekend coming up will be nuts. Being social Friday and Saturday night with "perhaps" a few drinks. Work Saturday where we're taking the kids to Herning to check out cool motorbikes and scooters. An art-day Sunday with some of my co-workers from JB and some friends where we decided to take advantage of our creative workshop at work. Puha - going to be a killer weekend but I can't wait! Party, work and art - who needs sleep!?

Ok, I'm going for a walk now with a friend and then maybe I'll take some pictures of my lovely homey home. And then, maybe I'll actually post them the next time I blog.

LOVE YOU ALL!
