It's been way too long since I last posted... But I'm here now and this time, I plan to post pictures too! Most of the pictures have been uploaded on facebook so these are mainly for those of you who don't have facebook. Gotta love facebook!

I have been busy, but not too overly stressed out. My days just seem to fly by and I'm seriously enjoying life. Ok, I've had some days at work where I'm ready to tear my hair out afterwards but I guess that's all part of the "real life". I still love my jobs. We had a market/circus theme week a while ago and my part of it was letting the kids throw "flødeboller" at me. It got sticky and very messy. The kids loved it - I wasn't too thrilled afterwards but it was worth it. But next time, it'll be someone else's turn in the box!

They all lined up and threw marshmellow-ish stuff at me. Even my co-workers took advantage of it and had a go. It got messy. And we were all on a sugar high afterwards!

I had several hours left of my shift afterwards and wasn't able to wash my hair. Yuck!
The youth club in Nørup is closed now. A bitter-sweet feeling. I love working there - I love it when the kids seem happy to see us and all the fun (and not-so-fun situations) stuff that goes on. But then again, it's nice having my Wednesday evenings free for other stuff. I see the kids from Nørup every once in a while at the local youth parties so I try to keep in contact. And facebook definitely helps too.
But I'm still working at the garage every Saturday and now that the weather has gotten way better, we have more and more kids coming by. Lots of fun. Especially now that I'm actually getting to know them.

Now that the sun is shining and it's warmer, we tend to move the scooters outside and work on them in the fresh air. I still know NOTHING about scooters but I'm having fun "learning" while hanging out with these kids. They love telling me all sorts of stuff and I still understand nothing about motors and stuff. Luckily, we talk about a million other things besides scooters.
Lise came out and visited me last Saturday at work. Gorgeous weather! And I got my first sunburn of the year - probably won't be my last one....
Other than work, I've been either hanging out here at home, doing artsy/creative stuff, reading and just relaxing. Or I'm spending time with my friends where we either just hang out, make dinner together, watch movies and have a couple of drinks every now and then. Greg, my Canadian buddy stayed at my place a few days before heading off to travel Europe. He'll be coming back for a few days again at the end of May and then he's going back home to get on with the real life of work and responsibilities.

Greg and me at a party at Rasmus' place a little while ago. He's definitely brought back a lot of Canadian memories and it was nice having someone here that understands my stupid canadian jokes and all the good stuff from back home.
I don't get to hang out with my friends as much as I wish I could. Due to my wacky work hours (mainly afternoons and evenings), I rarely see them during the week. So we try to get together on the weekends and catch up. Not always drinking and wild parties but always lots of fun!

Rasmus, Lise and I had a seriously fun night a few weeks ago. Just us three and I laughed so hard that my stomach muscles were hurting the next day. We took so many pictures but this one is definitely my fave. Kinda hard taking the picture and being in it at the same time but it worked out.

Last weekend was just gorgeous. Sunshine, good friends and BBQ food. Christa and Lise picked me up at work and after we did some grocery shopping, we came back to my place (and Christa's - she's my neighbour) and had a BBQ in the courtyard. Good food, good wine and good company. When the sun went down and it got chilly, we went up to my place and had a serious girl's night. Talking, laughing and even a few tears. The only bummer was that I had been in the sun a little too much during the day and was feeling the pain later on in the evening.

Great picture of Christa but a horrible picture of me. I was tired and sunburnt. Luckily, they love me even when I look like shit.
There is so much more to tell but I think I'll end it here and leave the rest for next time. I have to get ready for work now... and drink more coffee. Mmmm, coffee.....

I'm cold, hungry and alone.... sounds a lot more pathetic than it really is!

I'm at work (the garage) and since we have no heat here, I'm freezing. Seriously. I have long underwear on underneath jeans, two pairs of socks, a long-sleeved shirt, a t-shirt, a thick sweater, my jacket, a hat and gloves on and I'm still cold. And I can't type on my puter with gloves...

But it's all good!

No kids are here right now so I'm taking advantage of the quiet to update my blog. Soon I will eat lunch. It's all about work this weekend because after my shift at the garage, I will be heading out to Jelling to the youth party - that's the one where a lot of the kids are completely shitfaced and there is usually lots to do.

But.... I love my jobs. So it's all good.

I've been sick earlier this week with a nasty cold but I'm pretty much back in business again. Still snotty and still sporting a yucky cough but I'll survive. I usually do.

I have some new paintings that need to be hung up at home plus some old ones that have been touched up. I should seriously take some pictures soon of my home. Do you remember my old apartment when I lived alone? Just picture that - they're exactly the same.

And I love my home. It's my home. A little messy and still need to get some things done like curtains, lights and buy a vacumn cleaner but that'll come.

My babbling is coming to an end. My fingers are too frozen to type so the gloves are coming back on. Have a great weekend!

Loud music and coffee - that's what my "mornings" are like. I rarely watch tv but ALWAYS have music playing. Sometimes loud and sometimes not so loud. Today, it's loud. I'm in that kind of mood.

I only have two more shifts up at JB and then I have a long weekend followed by vacation. YAY ME! It's not going to be 100% vacation because I still have to work at the club in Nørup next Wednesday, a course Thursday evening and then of course the garage on Saturday but I'm off during the days. My plans consist of visiting friends who live outside of Vejle and homey stuff like painting, cleaning, reorganizing, laundry blah blah blah.

I survived a killer weekend but I can definitely feel that I'm no longer a teenager. But I'll admit, I had a freaking blast! I'm going out again Saturday after work with some friends so we'll see how that turns out. I think I go out a lot during the weekends because I rarely see anyone other than kids and co-workers during the weekdays and it's just great seeing my friends when we can make it happen.

Ok, now I'm just babbling - coffee babble. I'm going to log off now and find some socks. I hate having to match up my socks after laundry but that means that when I need to find socks, I have issues. It's time for me to get ready for work - two more evening shifts and then I'm on vacation!

when I have powertools!?

Ok, some people might find that sentence slightly perverted but it wasn't meant in a dirty way. I just finished hanging up some shelves in my living room - ALL BY MYSELF! They are slightly crooked and we'll see what happens when I actually put stuff on them but that's not the point. The point is - I DID IT MYSELF! See, I don't need a man to help me out. Actually, the plan was that a friend was going to come over and help me out one day but we made those plans several weeks ago and so far, nothing. So, I got impatient, borrowed a kickass mother of a drill from work and made several holes in my wall.

HA!

Yes, I'm all excited about stupid shelves. Trust me, my life does have more important things to be excited over but I'm proud of myself and so there!

Life is good. I did a no-drinking/party weekend and instead pulled a 14 hour long work day on Saturday. I can handle partying for hours on end, dancing and goofing around but 14 hours of kids exhausted me. I crashed when I got home and slept in Sunday. Like a rock. Good thing I did that because I went to a Superbowl gathering Sunday evening and that turned into a late night. Lots of fun though and totally worth being beaten up on Monday.

Back to work today and it was a good day. Probably helped that it was also my short day and I get to spend my evening at home. Hanging up shelves and just doing my own thing here. Have I mentioned lately that I LOVE my apartment? I love it more every day. And I get excited when I get to cross something off my long list of things to do and things to buy. I bought shower curtains and a matt yesterday and yes, that made me happy.... in no such twisted way at all.

Weekend coming up will be nuts. Being social Friday and Saturday night with "perhaps" a few drinks. Work Saturday where we're taking the kids to Herning to check out cool motorbikes and scooters. An art-day Sunday with some of my co-workers from JB and some friends where we decided to take advantage of our creative workshop at work. Puha - going to be a killer weekend but I can't wait! Party, work and art - who needs sleep!?

Ok, I'm going for a walk now with a friend and then maybe I'll take some pictures of my lovely homey home. And then, maybe I'll actually post them the next time I blog.

LOVE YOU ALL!

Mondays are always different for me. Sometimes I get up and groan over the fact that my weekend is over and that I have to work. Sometimes I jump out of bed and smile to the world, thinking about how much I love my job(s) and that this is a new week. Sometimes I get lots of stuff done here at home before work, and sometimes I do nothing.

It's been a combination of everything this morning. I was super tired when I got up. Really tired. It was a hard weekend and late last night before I went to bed - ended up watching the game last night and playing on the computer. I slept like a freaking rock! So I crawled out of bed, groaned over the fact that I really should be getting up and doing some stuff here before I go to work (I have the evening shift tonight) and made some breakfast, made some coffee and now I'm ready to start my day.

And now I'm awake. Not ready for work just yet, but awake and smiling.

I don't really have any huge plans this week. The biggest news would be that I'm getting a couch tonight and I'm super excited. Yes, one can get excited over a piece of furniture! I can't wait! The plan is that my co-worker gets my extra key, since I'm working, and will swing by with the couch tonight. Which means that I should have a nice "surprise" when I get home tonight. YAY ME! Pictures will come!! Me and some kids picked up the "old" couches on Saturday and brought them over to the garage so I sat on the floor last night.

Other than that, it looks like my week will be busy with work. I'm starting a work-related course on Saturday so I won't be at the garage this weekend but I can't fit everything into my schedual. I'm still struggling with slight signs of a cold and drinking tea and NeoCitron but it looks like I'll survive another day. Went out with friends Friday and Saturday night - nothing extreme but still lots of fun. Spent a quiet day at home yesterday.

Life is good.

I'm in the mood to update my blog but I don't have any witty opening comments to get myself started. I'm sitting here in my living room, listening to music and drinking tea, trying desperately to wake up even though it's already 11am. I'm tired. I slept way too good last night and had a really hard time getting my ass out of bed. Maybe I should make myself some coffee after posting and hopefully that will help wake me up before I have to work.

Today is Thursday which means that I don't have to be at work until 2pm. Work is going good - it was hard to get back into the routine of things after the holidays but it's getting there. I love my job(s) so that definitely helps. I'm pretty busy trying to juggle everything and give each job all the energy and attention they deserve but I'll admit that sometimes it's a little hard. I do what I can do and have decided to just take one day at a time.

My apartment is coming along - slowly but definitely turning into a home. A little Rie home. I'm getting another couch next Tuesday and I can't wait! My coworker decided to get a new one and his is still in good condition so he thought of me. Yay me! The couches I have right now were given to me by one of my kid's parent's when they fixed up their living room and I have been super grateful - but they are not the prettiest pieces of furniture and they aren't the type of couches that one just throws themselves on and relaxes. A little too hard and stiff for my taste. So... Tuesday, I get a "new" couch and these "old" ones will be donated to my garage so that the kids have a place to sit. So, once I get my couches, my table and sofa table from my friend (YAY Heidi!), I can start thinking about hanging up some lamps and paintings.

I have some great family and friends in my life that have really helped me in this moving process and I couldn't have done it without any of them. Just the support, the emails, the phone calls, the hugs and the long talks. I have decided that 2009 will be a good year. I'm back into the groove - I'm painting again, doing my creative thing, having fun, meeting people, loving my job(s) and just taking it one day at a time. Life is good and I'm happy.

Right now, I'm at work. Not at a warm youth club with coffee and kids, but at the garage. It's cold, I don't have any coffee and there are no kids here. I'm all alone.... I could start talking to myself and no one would notice that I'm slowly going crazy...

Which is why I decided to play geek on the computer instead. Upload some pictures, read some blogs, catch up on emails and just geek out while sitting on a motorcycle lift and breathing in the garage air. These are the most recent pictures taken during the holidays of family and friends. I haven't been good at taking pictures and have definitely regretted it. I should have my camera with me at all times!

Ernst on Christmas Eve with Pernille's dog - Ricco. A very friendly dog who loves attention.

A father-daughter moment. Jannie got a new office chair for Christmas and Claus was there to help her put it together.

Karin smirks at the way her present from Ernst is wrapped. A plastic bag and tape goes a long way!

Pernille relaxing with a glass of redwine.

My friend Lise came over one day to make Christmas snacks with marcipan and nougat. We got our hands dirty and tried to be creative and I found out that marcipan art is not one of my talents.

Don't remember what Lise found to be so funny but here she is in my kitchen, raiding my cupboards and having a good time.
I was at Jonna and Brian's place on Christmas Day but didn't take any pictures... Silly me. I don't even know if they took any pictures. We ate, talked, drank coffee and had a good time together with Jonna's close family. (I've included myself into their family - hee hee!) After Christmas, I spent some time with my friends and work at the local youthclub party. Then I got sick. Blah!! I ended up staying home New Years Eve - see previous post :( - and tried to sleep my misery away. I'm feeling better again, back in business and ready to take over the world. Still snotty and I can't hear anything but I'm alive and kicking.
Will not forget what Rachel told me - Year 2009 is OUR year! Better watch out!!

It's New Years Eve and I'm here at home. I was supposed to go to Esbjerg with Tine but I am still feeling like shit so I decided it was best I stayed home. Which was probably the best decision because I'm curled up on my couch with my blankets and my computer. Not all that interesting whatsoever.

I hope everyone has a great New Years Eve, whatever you all are doing.

I'm going back to bed....

I hope everyone had and will have (to those people who celebrate a funny christmas on the 25th "over there" :P) a very Merry Christmas!

I'm at home for the next few minutes before I take off to Jonna and Brian's place. I spent Christmas Eve with Karin and Ernst at Pernille & co.'s place and had a good time. I came out to Nørup a few hours early so I could hang out a bit with Karin while Ernst did his own thing around the house - lots of gossip and bitching - a serious girltalk! We had really good food at Pernille's place and just had a very good time with the family. Pictures will come in the next couple of days.

Today will be spent with Jonna and Brian and their family. Should be lots of fun - usually is when we're together! After today, I have some serious vacation time and definitely well-deserved if I may say so myself!

I just wanted to wish you all a very Merry Christmas! Glædelig Jul!

While most of the people I know have Christmas vacation now, I still have Monday and Tuesday at work before I can fully enjoy the holiday season. So, happy vacation to those who have it and to those who have to work, sucks to be us!!

Big news! Tine got us tickets to the AC/DC concert over in Copenhagen next summer! Can you believe it - AC/DC!? I never thought I would see them in concert but June 19th - we will be there and rocking it so hard!

My weekend has been quiet, other than a few hours at work yesterday. Movies, sleeping in and just hanging out - great weekend. Now I have my music blasting, drinking coffee and will soon get some stuff done here at home so I can fully relax tonight with no guilty feelings of being lazy.

Mmm, coffee.....
