It's New Years Eve and I'm here at home. I was supposed to go to Esbjerg with Tine but I am still feeling like shit so I decided it was best I stayed home. Which was probably the best decision because I'm curled up on my couch with my blankets and my computer. Not all that interesting whatsoever.

I hope everyone has a great New Years Eve, whatever you all are doing.

I'm going back to bed....

I hope everyone had and will have (to those people who celebrate a funny christmas on the 25th "over there" :P) a very Merry Christmas!

I'm at home for the next few minutes before I take off to Jonna and Brian's place. I spent Christmas Eve with Karin and Ernst at Pernille & co.'s place and had a good time. I came out to Nørup a few hours early so I could hang out a bit with Karin while Ernst did his own thing around the house - lots of gossip and bitching - a serious girltalk! We had really good food at Pernille's place and just had a very good time with the family. Pictures will come in the next couple of days.

Today will be spent with Jonna and Brian and their family. Should be lots of fun - usually is when we're together! After today, I have some serious vacation time and definitely well-deserved if I may say so myself!

I just wanted to wish you all a very Merry Christmas! Glædelig Jul!

While most of the people I know have Christmas vacation now, I still have Monday and Tuesday at work before I can fully enjoy the holiday season. So, happy vacation to those who have it and to those who have to work, sucks to be us!!

Big news! Tine got us tickets to the AC/DC concert over in Copenhagen next summer! Can you believe it - AC/DC!? I never thought I would see them in concert but June 19th - we will be there and rocking it so hard!

My weekend has been quiet, other than a few hours at work yesterday. Movies, sleeping in and just hanging out - great weekend. Now I have my music blasting, drinking coffee and will soon get some stuff done here at home so I can fully relax tonight with no guilty feelings of being lazy.

Mmm, coffee.....

HEAVEN!

I can't remember the last time I spent a Saturday here at home. An entire Saturday with no plans and so far, I'm loving it. It's almost 1pm and I'm drinking a cup of coffee while listening to my music channel on tv - todays theme is 1993 and that totally brings back some memories!

My week was pretty good. Work, work and more work. I did have a Christmas party at work last night and that was so much fun! Already during the day, my co-workers and I were in the party/xmas mood and had a blast. I actually wore a dress to the party and I looked GOOD! Myco-workers all commented on the fact that I actually looked all girly but they were all good comments. The party itself was hilarious. Good food, lots of laughs, singing and dancing. We rocked the place!

I didn't sleep much last night since it was late when I got home but I made it up in time to set a load of laundry over and then made my way over to the garage (my Saturday job) but ended up going home again. No kids were there and Bjarne (my coworker) was enjoying the peace and quiet to catch up on some studying - no complaints from me!

So far, I am catching up on all my laundry, cleaning up around here and am just plain enjoying the peace and quiet. No plans for tonight either! YAY ME! I can paint. Read. Sleep. Eat. Watch tv. Emails. Blogs. Clean. Whatever I want!! (Can you hear the excitement? I seriously am in heaven right now.)

So.... how are things going around the world? Everyone getting ready for Christmas? I will be spending Christmas Eve with my cousin and her family out in Nørup and that should be lots of fun. I don't get to see them that often which is a shame because my cousin (and of course the rest of the family) is such a nice person. I still need to finish my gift shopping - or should I say start?? But I'm not at all sure of what I should get any of them and how I'm going to make that work in my budget at the moment - I'm still struggling after moving and the bills have hit me all at once but I will make it work. I always do!

Mondays aren't that bad. I get to sleep in and do my own thing here at home before I have to work at the club. I've been trying to get my stuff organized here and turn it into a "Rie-home". I'm trying to find my style but I don't think I have a specific style so that's kind of hard. None of my furniture actually match, I still need to unpack lots of stuff and I need to soon figure out some more lighting... BUT it's home. And it's my home!

So I just spent the morning relaxing and putting artsy stuff away. I still need to hang up my shelves and once they come up, then alot of junk can be cleared up. Yes... I have lots of junk...

My weekend went well. Perhaps too well because I didn't get anything done yesterday and basically just slept the entire day away. But that was probably needed and I definitely enjoyed a quiet Sunday. Sundays are my only days without any work so I try to just seriously relax and trust me - I just relaxed! I was at work at a youthparty Friday night and that went well. Over 300 teenagers and most of them behaved themselves. Me and some co-workers went out for drinks afterwards but since I had to work Saturday morning, I behaved myself too. But we had fun - we always have fun at work. I love my job!

Work on Saturday was good too. Not that many kids came by but that's probably because they were all at the youthparty. I ended up going out Saturday night which wasn't a part of my plan but I'm glad I did because it was fun! Greg is a Canadian living here in DK for 6 months because of his job and we met over the internet - a meetup group for "non-Danes" living in DK (people who work here, married to a Dane or just people like me....). Anyways, him and I went over to Peter's place for dinner and then ended up going downtown. Lots of fun. Too much fun! Peter is freaking hilarious so we spent most of the night laughing and just goofing around. Drinking was involved as well and yes, I did have a "slight" hangover Sunday. I wish I had taken some pictures to share but I didn't have my camera with me. Sorry! Some of you are complaining about me writing too much and not remembering to take pictures so I will soon, I promise!

So now it's Monday and another work week ahead of me. I should probably finish up here and start getting ready for today - I doubt I can go to work looking and smelling the way I do now...

I'm at the youth club in Nørup so if I suddenly end this post, you'll know why. Things here are ok. Lots of work to do with my different jobs and my apartment but I'm just taking one day at a time. Trying to also have a life on the side but being the responsible adult I am, my social life is at a minimum. I have to work Friday night but I'm thinking that we'll all go out for a beer afterwards and try to have some fun. But since I'm working Saturday, I better behave myself!

I have a teenager standing over my shoulder, reading my post.... I better drop the idea of updating my blog for now.

Ok, not exactly weekend for me just yet. I work Saturdays so I still have today and tomorrow to think about. Puha!

Life is ok here. Nice and quiet - greatly appreciated. Honestly, I haven't done anything other than relax, watch tv, sleep and eat. I was off work Tuesday and Wednesday and instead of using my time wisely (cleaning, paperwork, etc), I did NOTHING. Seriously. I now have a guilty feeling of being lazy but then again, after these last few months where everything has been going at lightspeed, I figured a couple of days with NOTHING was allowed.

So tonight will be a quiet evening here at home since I'm behind with all my small (and larger) projects and also because I'm working tomorrow at the garage. I only have 4 hours at work today so I can't complain. Groceries and paperwork are my main priorities tonight.

My health is better. No more kidney pains or fevers. Just a little cold but that's slowly going away again. Everyone here in DK is sick with a nasty cold or whatever..... so I'm drowning myself in tea and NeoCitron.

Wow, this has been a very boring post. I have nothing to write about. MEH.

It's amazing what happens when one doesn't have a tv. I mean, I've been horrible at updating my blog the last few months and then when my tv dies - I'm here all the time!

I just finished "dinner" (I need meat soon!) and am taking a break from unpacking and organizing and since I don't have a tv, I thought I'd blog a bit. Not because I have much to write about other than moving and my health. I'm still surrounded by boxes but every little bit helps. It'll take some days before I'm settled and knowing me, I'll be rearranging for several months to come but one day at a time. I'm feeling better - not great but definitely better. Still taking painkillers and antibiotics but I don't have a fever today so that's a good sign. Trying to drink lots of water and tea so I can just pee all the bad stuff out of me! And sleep... which is probably why my apartment doesn't look like much yet.

Have I yet mentioned how much I love my little place? I really love my place and know that it'll be a perfect home for me when everything calms down. I can't wait until I can drink my coffee at the table, paint and do artsy stuff in the craft corner and just relax on my couch watching tv. Simple things like that in life are good. And very much needed.

Back to packing. And studying for my "little" test tomorrow.

I'm on some fun painkillers right now so if I babble, I blame the drugs ;)

Right now, I'm sitting on my couch in my new home, looking at all the boxes and really don't know where to start. So I decided to write my first blog post in my new home and just take it easy right now.

These last couple of days have been hell and honestly, if I didn't have good friends to lean on, I don't know where I'd be right now. Probably passed out because of pain and misery! Thursday night, when I was on my way to bed, I felt a sharp pain in my side and a sudden urge to pee.... to make a long story short, I ended up curled up in a little ball on the floor of my bathroom and was ready to die. I didn't sleep at all Thursday night and the pain was getting worse and worse. So I called my doctor Friday morning and got an appointment for the afternoon... BUT, my friend was getting married Friday so I somehow got my ass downtown to witness her wedding and then was taken care of two other friends. Tine gave me some painkillers to help me make it through the day until I had my appointment and her and AK pretty much took care of me.

I go to the doctors, pee in a cup and was checked out and she decided that I am probably having problems with kidney stones. She prescribed some extra painkillers and said that I should call on Monday. But after she had poked me, I was in serious pain... After that, things are a little blurry. We make it down to the drugstore and then Tine and AK put me in a cab home. I don't really remember much - I passed out and woke up when Jonna called me. She ended up driving out to pick me up and took me back to her and Brian's place so I wasn't alone. By then, the painkillers were kicking in and I was actually ok. I slept on their couch - a very nice couch! - with a dog and cat and a toilet nearby. Unfortunatly for Jonna and Brian, their youngest girl ended up having a rough night with vomit so they didn't sleep much at all.

We ate breakfast together and I chowed down on more painkillers... because I had to move today. Jonna and I jump in her car, picked up a trailer from work and got right to work. Anders came and helped out too and we quickly got all the stuff moved from work. But because I was not doing good yesterday and have been super busy with work all last week, I wasn't able to pack my stuff until today.... so while I was throwing things in boxes, baskets and bags, Jonna and Anders were going up and down the stairs putting things in the trailer. A FREAKING NIGHTMARE.

But we got almost everything moved and now I'm here. I am not going to work tonight, even though I'm feeling no pain now - yay for painkillers! - but I didn't want to risk being stuck out there in Jelling if things got worse and luckily my co-workers are very understanding and great people. But I'm here in my home now and listening to my toilet run.... lots of water so I'll have to call the landlord Monday morning. I already called him and left a message but I doubt he'll call me back this weekend.

So, thank you to Tine and AK for being there for me yesterday in my time of pain. And thank you to Jonna and Brian for babysitting me last night and for helping me move. Thank you to Anders for helping me move too. Congrats to Lise and Michael - she turned 25 yesterday and they got married.

Now I'm going to start unpacking...

November 10, 2008

Posted by Rie On 11:19 PM
...here in my temporary apartment. YAY ME!

Yes, I'm all giddy with excitement about moving. I hope to get the key on Friday and then be able to at least move all my junk from work into my new home. Then go to a special party (will explain that one after the weekend) and then maybe - hopefully - sleep in my new home. But I doubt it. I have a feeling that I will have to wait until Saturday night to have my first sleep in a real bed since my time is limited on Friday. BUT - Saturday, I'm taking the day off work and I have the entire day to at least make it possible to SLEEP IN A REAL BED when I get home from work Saturday night/Sunday morning.

Did that make any sense? Probably not.... I haven't slept in a real bed for the last few months and my body is screaming for a bed. The mattress thing isn't fun anymore. I'm too old for that shit. So I took the day off work from the "garage" but, I have to work that night at the drunken youth party so it'll be late before I'm home. So Sunday will most likely be spent unpacking, rearranging and just enjoying my new home. If I get my ass out of my REAL BED!

Ok, I'm crazy. But what the hell do you expect since I was dying of boredom at work this evening and need to let some of my craziness out. And seriously, if you know me, you wouldn't be suprised of my rambling and babbling. Yes, I tend to ramble. And sometimes even babble.

Nothing else here is super interesting to write about. Well... I did have a birthday last week. I'm fucking 29 years old. ALMOST 30! Fuck. But then again, I don't feel almost 30. Only in the mornings when I wake up and my body is sore from sleeping on a sad mattress. Anyways, yeah, I turned 29 last Wednesday. I had a good day with lots of bday wishes from around the world. I felt loved. People still mistake me for being a youthful teenager so it's all good. Besides my body starting to sag - damn the big boobs - I must still look like a young girl. Not someone who is almost 30. Doesn't matter - it's just a number. Not really a big deal, right?

So, this is the end of my babbling session for today. You can blame my cousin Steen - he reminded me that some people actually do read this blog and that I suck at updating it lately. HEJ STEEN! Life in DK is good. The family is good... according to Karin. Life in Canada is good... as far as I know. I got stood up yesterday with the weekly skype chat with the parental units. I guess they had better things to do ;) Tee hee. Yes, I know Mom was busy doing girly stuff and dad had to work so I'm not completely devastated. I'll survive. I had a good evening so everything is all good.

IT'S ALL GOOD!

xoxoxo

This is probably going to end up being more of a babbling session instead of being about a specific topic - now you're warned ;)

Life here in little DK and little Vejle is good. Busy to the EXTREME regarding work but fuck it, I love my job. Actually I should say jobs. For the first time since I got out of highschool, I found IT regarding careers. (Yes, I know I talk a lot about my work and yes, I do have a life outside of work). I always used to be jealous of those who just knew what they wanted to do and loved their jobs and now I'm that person. Sure, I bitch about long shifts and stuff like that. I moan and groan when I have to crawl out of bed and go to work. BUT when I get there, I love it.

And I am damn good at it!

Enough of that. What else have I be doing? Just trying to relax at home or with friends. Nothing really including huge amounts of alcohol or hardcore partying - just hanging out and having a good time. I have a good friend coming over Saturday and when we're together, we always have a great time. Don't exactly know what our plans are yet but either way, I know for sure that it's going to be great seeing her again.

Family is good. From what I hear, Chris and Kim are busy living their lives in Calgary. Busy with work and school... actually, I really don't know what they are up to but I hear that all is good over there. Mom and dad have finally sold the Sooke house and are living closer to town. Closer to all the action! They seem happy enough for their new home and I can't wait to see it. I know I didn't live in the Sooke house for many years but I will miss that place. It'll be super wierd not having to drive ALL the way out to Sooke and not having my old bedroom.... ok, I haven't had my old bedroom in years but you know what I mean... Anyways , it'll be so cool to see their new home and see what things are like there. As long as I have a couch to crash on, then I'm happy. Or I'll just take the boat.

Tja... what else can I write about. I'm moving into my real home Nov. 15th and I'm so ready. My little temporary home is nice and definitely better than couch-hopping but.... it's not home. I have a sad mattress to sleep on and I have no table. But I can cook, sleep, smoke and shit so it's all good. I have my computer and my internet. I can lock the door and ignore people. I don't think my heater works so I'm freezing my ass off but I'll survive for now.

That's about it for now. I'm going to read my book and then crash for the night. Work tomorrow - work Saturday and guess what?? Work on Sunday too. Good thing I love coffee or else I think I'd crumble.

Picture time! Now that I finally have internet and some quiet time here at home, I decided to add some pictures of what I've been doing lately. Most of you readers can see them on facebook so this is mainly for my grandparents to see. (I assume they read this blog every now and then...)

Anyways, in random order: The life of Rie!

Singstar girls night at Jannie's place. Notice the sweatpants, bad hair and scoobydoo socks. Not the sexiest picture of me but we were just having a fun night!

Gokarts with the youthclub. My first time ever really driving a gokart and we definitely had some fun!

Me and one of my "kids". I look very badass - eh?

Fake nails before they were filed down to a normal length.

Jannie and Rie. Another girl's night out - this time with drinking involved.

Rie and Jannie - a costume party (movie character theme). Another badass picture.

At Jannie's bday party. Not a flattering shot but I looked damn good! (when I was standing up!)

Tired Rie after a night out at the bars.

So, other than work and sleep, I've been hanging out with the girls and having a good time. Tonight (Sunday) is my quiet night here at home and I'm loving it. I have some paperwork to do but maybe I'll wait until tomorrow since I have the evening off. Maybe I'll just put on a movie and relax. Sounds like a good plan, eh?

It is completely crazy how dependent one gets of the internet! I mean, I haven't had access to the net at home for the last month and it was driving me crazy! I could easily live without my television but without the internet/computer?? Nope. Not a chance. So I forked out some money and got this really cool connection that's fast enough for my needs (as far as I can tell so far) and it's very portable. It's just a usb key thing that I stick in my computer and wham! Internet!

Yes, that is my giddy news for the day. And yes, I am fully aware that I am a geek. But a huge deal of my life revolves around my computer - the connection to my family and friends in Canada plus many friends here in DK. My work. My gossip. My entertainment.

Ok, so I'm prettty much on my way out the door. I have to work at the "garage" - tee hee, can anyone see me as a mechanic? LOL! It's makes me laugh every time!

Have a great weekend! I'll be "seeing" more of you know that I'm online. And pictures will soon come once I find the usb thingy I use to transfer pictures from the digi to the computer. It's around here somewhere.....

It's actually quiet here at work. The kids are gone, my co-worker is out grocery shopping and I'm here all alone. Peace and quiet. It won't be long before the older kids (teenagers) come so I better use my time wisely.

I'm doing alright. I am now living in my temporary apartment until Nov. 15 and it's actually ok. I have my own place - my own bed, kitchen and bathroom. All I really miss is a table to sit at and internet to play with. But I'm hardly ever home anyways so it's all good for now.

Work is good. Lots of kids during the day, not so many in the evenings. Started back in Nørup yesterday and it was nice being back on familiar grounds. Started work on the new project at a completely different club so I definitely have enough to see to. But I like what I do.

Social life is also going pretty good. I spend time with my friends but am also meeting new people, which is always fun. Last weekend, Jannie had a party (HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!) and that was fun. Pictures have been posted on facebook - since I don't have internet access, it's kinda hard for me to keep track of all the photos. This Saturday will be slightly crazy - work at 10am, meet up with Dorte at 2pm and then meet up with Jannie to go to Ã…rhus in the evening. We are going to a heavy metal concert!! Not exactly Jannie's type of music but I'm happy. I'm not really sure what the plan is afterwards... maybe we'll meet up with others at the bars, maybe not.

So.... things are good here. Busy as all hell and my arms/wrists are paying for it. Doctor says I have tendi.... I have no idea how to spell it. My tendens are infected.... Either way, it's hurts and it's a huge hassle right now.

Co-worker is back, gotta run! Love you all!

Ok, I'm really sorry for not updating my blog at all lately. Life has been a little chaotic lately so my time in front of a computer screen has been limited.

Right now, I'm in the process of moving out and into my "temporary" apartment. I'll be living there - without internet :( until I move into my "real" home Nov. 15. Sounds complicated? It's not but definitely a pain in the ass. I hate moving!

But other than moving stress, life is good. I'm really busy with work and that's a good thing. I love my job.

Speaking of work, this post can only be a quick update to those of you who actually care ;) as I am at work... as usual.

I hope everyone is doing well!!

I just finished looking at my new apartment! Yay me! It's actually identical to my old place and even in the same area - just on the other side of the courtyard/parking lot. The price is the same, the size is the same, the rooms are the same - the only difference is that it's with a better fridge and overlooks a different street. I loved my old place so I'm definitely happy and very excited. I still have 3 months before I can move in but Nov. 15, here I come! Three months is quite a while and the waiting period has it's advantages and disadvantages... Of course I would love to move in tomorrow but now I can plan ahead and seriously save some money. It's going to be nice having a date to focus on and look forward to.

Just thought I would share some happy news to the world.

Work is good. Great being back and seeing everyone again. The new kids are shy and cute but that'll probably change once they get comfortable with us and the other kids.

Yes, life is starting to be good again.

I'm pretty much on my way out the door but wanted to write a short post to say hi. I'm going over to Tine's place with Jannie for dinner and drinks - we might end up downtown, we might not. We'll see what happens but good friends, good food and good wine can't go wrong!!

Things are ok here, definitely a rollercoaster of emotions but I can handle it. I am actively looking for a new apartment and am also on the lookout for cool cheap furniture.... when I moved up here, I gave all my stuff away to a good cause so I'm pretty much starting from scratch. Again. I don't regret doing it but looking back, I wish I hadn't. Oh well, no use looking back - time to look forward. Right?

I start work again on Monday after a LONG vacation and I'm actually pretty excited. I like my co-workers, I like the kids (most of them) and I love my job. It'll be hard getting back into the routine again after having such a crazy long vacation but I can't wait.

So.... life here is kinda crazy but also exciting. I'm in serious saving mode so I can get my shit put back together and start living my life again. I definitely have my ups and downs but I guess that's normal, right? I stay away from sappy music and sappy tv shows and try to keep myself occupied. So if I give any loving couples a dirty look, just deal with it for now - it's nothing personal ;)

I just finished the happy post of Bulgaria and now I'm doing a not-so-happy post... Anders and I are no longer together. We had a great time in Bulgaria and really enjoyed our vacation together but after we got back to DK and reality hit, we decided that we were better as friends and broke up a little over a week ago. I wasn't going to post the news on my blog but then again, it's easier telling people this way. I have my ups and major downs but I'm hoping things will get easier with time. Luckily I have some good friends with strong shoulders I can cry on.

We're still living together until I get my own place again. So, I have my own room with a bed, my desk and all my junk and access to the kitchen and bathroom. Anders and I are still close and even though we know that we don't work as a couple, we are good friends. I'm on the waitlist for a new home and in the meantime, I have the opportunity to save some money and start over again. So if anyone has any furniture they need to get rid of (couch, table, chairs etc), let me know!

I don't know what else to say - We definitely tried to make things work but after almost 9 years, we finally realized that we just grew apart. We are better off as friends.

Still hurts though....

Here are some pictures from our trip to Sunny Beach, Bulgaria. June 2008. We had a good time. The weather was just gorgeous and we became very good in using sunscreen and aftersun cream. I'm glad we didn't go in high season because we could already tell by the end of our week there that more and more people were coming and in high vacation season, it would be packed with people. Plus it would have been way too hot for me.

Here is a little map I found on the internet kinda showing were Sunny Beach is in Bulgaria. It´s a very popular summer destination, especially for young people who want to party. We didn't party but did have a great time. We landed in Burgas and took a bus with the travel agency to Sunny Beach, directly to our hotel. We stayed at Chaika Beach and I would recommend that place to anyone thinking of going to Sunny Beach. Nice and clean with a great location. Good breakfast too. The only minus was at the hotel is that there wasn't any entertainment in the evenings but then again, Sunny Beach is full of entertainment and we were in walking distance to everything.

Another picture from the internet - The main beach area in Sunny Beach. Our hotel is the one right in front of the large red building... I think ;)

This is the view from our hotel. (another picture from the internet because we had rooms on the other side, overlooking another pool and parkinglot). The street between the hotel and beach was a long walking street with bars, restaurants and small booths with clothes, shoes, bags (everything you can possible imagine)and there was constant activity there. We weren't bothered by the noise at night because our room wasn't facing this way... but we would rather have the noise and be able to have that view!

The beach goes on for miles and miles both sides. Perfect sandy beach where we could just enjoy the sun but was also able to sit in the shade. We stayed near our hotel and was at the beach pretty much everyday. The water was ok - not very salty and the swimming conditions were good. In high season, everything is packed with people from the morning to the evening. There were street salesmen walking up and down the beach with fresh fruit, jewellery, icecream, drinks etc.

The view of our hotel from the beach.

Yes, I actually showed myself in a bikini. It wasn't that bad because there were all sorts of people on the beach so I didn't feel dumb after I got used to it. I was very careful and spent a lot of my time in the shade. We always had books or puzzles with us but I also spent lots of time just watching people and taking in the atmosphere. And went swimming when the heat got to me.

The "walking street" in front of our hotel early evening. Lots of people - families, old, young, drunk, sober. Entertainment and plenty of things to see and do.

We went to Burgas, a larger city/town about 30 km from Sunny Beach. Sunny Beach is very new - large, fancy hotels and buildings. Very touristy whereas Burgas was more "normal". Still very clean for a larger city. We did some shopping and poked around the center of the city.

Burgas (picture taken from the internet - I didn't get many good photos that day...)

Mmm, cake. There was a cake cafe not far from my hotel so we were there several times to drink coffee and eat cheesecake. Mmmm, cake.

We ate dinner at many different places and tried some really good food and unfortunately also some really shitty food. The mexican place, Mammacitas was excellent!!

Around 99.9% of bars had happy hour - buy 1 get 1 free. It was almost impossible to just order 1 drink because most of the time, you'd get one free. I think this picture is taken after I kicked Anders' ass in mini-golf.

Nessebar is about 10km from Sunny Beach and is on a large spit (like Whiffen Spit in Sooke). We took the local bus there one day to poke around and enjoy the old fashion atomosphere. The buildings and roads in the old part of Nessebar haven't changed in many many years - but all the booths and salesmen kinda ruined the effect. BUT, super interesting and very cool to experience.

People knitting and crocheting was very normal down there. They would sit there all day, doing their own thing and hope someone would buy something. They weren't as pushy as the restaurants (people working at the restaurants would constantly stop you as you walked by and try to get you to come eat there.) Things were cheaper there than in DK and there was so much to look at.

There were several old ruins in Nessebar and this one was in the center of the town. An old church if I remember correctly.

Beer was cheap in Bulgaria. We ate dinner at a seafood place in Nessebar and relaxed with beer and wine. (really good wine!) No one had to drive so we were allowed to have a couple of drinks with the food.

The restaurant overlooked part of the harbour and we could see across to Sunny Beach.

Back in Sunny Beach - people are starting to come and the streets were getting more and more packed.

The last night there. We played mini-golf and just hung out. Lots of fun and I had a really good time. I don't think I really have anything to complain about - it was a very nice, relaxing time and I'm sure Anders would say the same.

I haven't really updated my blog lately - been busy with work and stuff. Nothing new there! But I just wanted to brag a little bit now... I am leaving cold, grey and windy Denmark tomorrow and will be spending the week in sunny, sandy Bulgaria.

Just thought I would let people know....

The past couple of weeks have been gorgeous! The sun is shining, no rain and super hot - I love it! Lots of time has been spent out on my balcony or at a café sitting outside drinking cold drinks. We have to enjoy it while it lasts because it's supposed to be shitty weather again later on this week.... Blah!

Things are good here. No pictures with this post as I am at work, wondering where all the kids are. Boring! Luckily I don't have a long day so I'll survive this time around. We had a get-together here at work on Saturday - a surprise activity and BBQ afterwards. The surprise turned out to be paintball! I've never tried that before so I was definitely very excited (and very nervous!) I ended up getting shot 3 times - twice on my head (damn the high forehead!!) and once on my thigh. My boss shot me! The "head wounds" aren't bad, just a little scrape and tiny bruising. BUT... my leg bruise is a killer. Huge, colorful, painful and just plain ugly! I'll take a picture of it when I get home because it's definitely something to show off - I have never had such a bruise before!!!

Another news.... (I already told my parents but not my grandparents. So unless they tattled on me, this is new to them over in Biksen - and I know they are reading this!) I got my second tattoo and I love it! It's of a maple leaf with the numbers 07 97 right underneath, placed high on my center back. I haven't taken any pictures yet and it's kinda scabby and gross right now so I'll wait to show it off until it looks perfect. I'm very happy for it and can't wait until it's healed. And just so you know, I already have plans for another tattoo..... I can just picture my dad shaking his head in disgust.... but he still loves me!

So, sunshine, paintball and tattoos.... that's all I have to write about. We're leaving for our little vacation to Bulgaria June 24th and I can't wait! Woot woot!! I only have 16 days (12 of them at work) before Anders and I enter the world of swimming pools, sandy beaches, drinks, food and hopefully just a great vacation!!

wow... I have a nasty habit of babbling...

Here are some random pictures of what I've been doing lately.

I think Anders took this one when we went to Jannie's confirmation in April.

Anders and I went to the westcoast one weekend when it was super sunny and gorgeous weather.

I visited Heidi in Horsens last Sunday and while we were drinking coffee at a local cafe, a marching band.... marched by. We don't know why but it was fun to watch!

Heidi in the sunshine!

Rie in the sunshine!

Not only was there a marching band, but also a bunch of men dressed up.... we still don't know why.

My co-worker and I took some kids swimming on Tuesday in Fredericia Badeland. I am still all snotty so I didn't swim but took pictures. We had lots of fun and everyone thought it was hilarious when I stood in the wrong spot at the wrong time. Yes, I got soaked!

Between family gatherings, relaxing days on the beach, coffee with friends and work, I've been busy. I'm still fighting off a nasty cold (where does all the snot come from!!!) so I'm feeling like a mashed potato lately but other than that, things are good. I'm going to start taking my camera with me where ever I go so I can get loads of pictures. I'm meeting up with Jannie for brunch before my afternoon/evening shift at work so maybe more pictures will be uploaded soon!

Have a good Thursday!!

I'm at work right now which is why I can't upload any pictures. But I do have some and hopefully will be able to have a picture update later on today!

Life is ok here. The sun is shining and that's always nice. I've been busy but not too much stress... Went to Copenhagen with the youth club and spent the weekend (May 17 and 18th) over there. Saw soccor, went to Tivoli and had a good time. Last Friday after work, I met up with Lise and Tine for dinner and drinks - good times. Saturday, I did nothing and loved it. Anders and I just hung out at home and then went for dinner - neither one of us really felt like groceries or cooking. Sunday, I went up to Horsens to visit Heidi. It was my turn and it was great seeing her again. We drank coffee, I met her boyfriend and we played backgammon in the sunshine.... which resulted in a decent sunburn on my arms. I now have a crazy "farmer's tan" and it looks really stupid.

Jelling festival is this upcoming weekend. And I'm not going. It's kinda a sad thought.

Gotta go, have to work now. Pictures later! I promise!!

I'm at work so this will be a short post. Things are good here, just been really busy lately and haven't had much time to play on the computer. Work, work and more work all last week and the week before - I took on some extra shifts so I've been a little tired when I get home. But luckily I have Thursday and Friday off work (holiday) this week so I can finally get some stuff done at home!

Friday evening I was at the youth party here in Vejle. 300 teenagers and only one got kicked out because of drinking. Not bad, eh? Saturday evening I was at the youth party in Jelling, where the teenagers are all really really drunk. A lot of kids were there and it turned into a late night... I think Lise and I were home in Vejle at around 3am. BUT, I had to get up at a decent hour Sunday because my cousin's daughter had her confirmation - the whole family gathered to good food, wine, beer and coffee. Lots of fun but a long day. I was smashed when we finally got home. Off with the high heels, on with the sweatpants and threw myself on the couch. I don't even remember what I saw on tv.... way too tired.

Here I am, at work. The kids are starting to show up so I better end this post. Ohhh, my co-worker just drove up so time for coffee! Btw, everyone send good and happy thoughts to my little brother on Thursday! Him and Kim are getting MARRIED!

Yups, it's mom's birthday today. Happy Day to you! I'm going to try and call her today and catch her before she takes off to work.

The sun is shining. Gorgeous weather today and has been this weekend. All my windows are open and when I'm done doing my computer stuff, I will go for a walk before work. I already did some morning exercises (need to look good in my bikini in Bulgaria!) and my bum is now sore. Our bike in the living room is a good thing but the seat sucks. Or I just have a pointy bum bone...

Yeah, I'm not making much sense right now, am I?

Anyways, things are good here. I have my shelves up in my crafty corner now! I'm happy. My clutter doesn't look too bad anymore. More room to make more clutter. Loving it! I have a skirt that I want to make - actually two skirts so the more room the better. I'll try to post something interesting on the other blog once I finally take some pictures (or make something worth posting!).

I have a killer week at work - the only evening I'm off is Wednesday and I have to work Friday night and Saturday night too. But it'll be fine. Things will be back to normal again next week and then I'll have more time to play!

Weekend is over and I have to work soon. Since I have the youth club tonight, I don't have to be there until early afternoon which suits me just fine.
We didn't do much Friday, just hung around here and relaxed. Watched tv, made dinner and had a good time with Anders. We had a good time doing absolutely nothing! Saturday, I went out for lunch with the old Jelling Festival crowd - Lena, Erik and Lars. We discussed the possibilities of having our booth Pitstop this year and decided against it. We all love working there, even though it's hard work with no pay but due to other circumstances, we are not pushing at it this year. Which is a wierd feeling since I have been there for the past 6-7 years and this year - nothing. There will be a different booth out there so I'm just glad that something is being done.

BUT, we did decide to meet up at a later date and discuss the possibilities of working there next year but I'll admit I'm a little pessimistic towards the idea. I honestly think that Pitstop, no matter how much good we did, is dead. I guess we'll see what happens. Either way, it was great seeing them again and we shared lots and lots of laughs over lunch. Afterwards, I went over to Lena and Laine's new home - way out in the boonies. It was gorgeous and I'm jealous in many ways. A perfect house for them in a perfect area for them. I wouldn't be able to live there because it was seriously out in the sticks and since I rely on busses for work, that just wouldn't be a possibility for me. But what a cute house, no neighbours, woods and fields in the surrounding areas, a fire place... ok, barely any tv or internet connection and that would really suck for me. But totally perfect for Lena and Laine.
After Lena, Laine and I ate dinner (Mmmm, Thai food) we drove to Kolding to see Koldinghus burn down - again. Koldinghus is an old royal castle in the town of Kolding, founded way back in the 11th century. During times of war, it was used as a fortress and then afterwards, just another residence housing for the royal family. BUT - 200 years ago, during the Napeleonic Wars, there was a huge fire and most of it was damaged. It's been restored and is now a museum and a popular landmark.

So, to "celebrate" the fire, on the exact 200th day mark, they did it again. Only this time there was no real fire, just lots of lights, smoke and sound effects. The first picture is of the "fire" and it's NOT my picture. (Mine didn't turn out that well so this one I found on the Net and is taken by Maria Tuxen Hedegaard - I don't want to get into any trouble with copyright issues!) It was pretty cool - they used lots of smoke, lots of red/orange lighting and had speakers hidden in the trees with sound effects like smashing glass and fire crackling.
This is my picture after the "fire".

Yeah, ok, Danes are wierd. We celebrate large, devastating fires by putting on a show. But it was a good way of learning the history! BTW, I didn't really know the history so thank you for Internet!

Sunday was nice and quiet. Did artsy/crafty stuff. Went for a walk with Tine. Kenneth came over to watch a movie with Anders. Computer stuff and skype with the parental units.

Good times!
